      ACID HANDLING

•          Acid is physically difficult to distinguish from water apart from it’s pungent odor

•          Engineering controls are in place as a primary source of protection

•          PPE is to be worn to provide a protection if the engineering controls fail

•          Using common sense is a further protection against exposure

•          Read the MSDS sheet before handling acid and understand the risks

•          Treat acid exposure quickly, as per the MSDS, seek medical attention and don’t panic.

•          In the event of a spill listen to your supervisor
