ACID HANDLING

      ACID HANDLING
Acid is physically difficult to distinguish from water apart from it’s pungent odor
Engineering controls are in place as a primary source of protection
PPE is to be worn to provide a protection if the engineering controls fail
Using common sense is a further protection against exposure
Read the MSDS sheet before handling acid and understand the risks
Treat acid exposure quickly, as per the MSDS, seek medical attention and don’t panic.

In the event of a spill listen to your supervisor
